A former Secretary of the Conference and then lawyer at the Paris Court of Appeal, Thierry Derez joined the AM-GMF group in 1995, where he was appointed Chairman in 2001.

He became Chairman of MAAF in 2005 and then of MMA in 2007.

Having served as Covéa’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 2008 to 2022, he is currently the Group's Chief Executive Officer.
